Thoughts from Genesis 1:26

 26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

27 So God created mankind in his own image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.

When God made mankind on day 6, he said Let US make mankind in our image. This immediately refers to God as plural. We know from the first few verses of the Bible, that the Spirit of God hovered above the waters, and that God referred to himself as plural. Mankind was made in Gods image and also in His likeness. The first purpose for man was to RULE over all creatures on the earth. Man was made to rule!

The other interesting thing was that that the word says in verse 27 that God created male and female. In vs 26 it says he created mankind so that they may rule over the earth. They is plural.

fill the earth and subdue it

A little further on we are told that man was instructed to subdue the earth. So our job was not just to rule but to rule by force – because subdue indicates that something needs to be put down or subjugated.

 29 Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. 30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food

God provided animals and he provided food in the form of plants. Animals were never intended to be food.
